Magneti Marelli Parts & Services renews and enhances its logistics hub in Poland with a significant expansion of the Sosnowiec Warehouse. The long-term agreement with CEVA Logistics, in place since 2004, has been renewed for another five years, until 2029, strengthening an established relationship based on efficiency, innovation, and customer service.

With its 18,000 m² of state-of-the-art infrastructure, the Sosnowiec warehouse stands as the second main logistics hub for Magneti Marelli Parts & Services in Europe. From here, a distribution network serves 27 countries, covering major Eastern European nations and expanding into the growing markets of Central Asia, thus strengthening presence and competitiveness in the area.

—A fully dedicated warehouse with enhanced infrastructure

One of the key elements of this expansion is the conversion of the area for the exclusive use of Magneti Marelli Parts & Services. Previously, the warehouse was multi-account, with some spaces shared with other companies. Today, thanks to the new agreement, the entire structure is dedicated to managing Magneti Marelli Parts & Services products, ensuring greater operational and qualitative efficiency, significantly reducing the risk of errors.

To maximize space and process optimization, a new warehouse configuration has been implemented, the new layout includes:

  • A two-level mezzanine (Pick Tower), which allows for an increase in locations per product code, avoiding errors due to multiple locations.
  • A conveyor belt to improve internal handling and speed up picking operations.
  • An external covered area dedicated to the safe storage of specific materials, including refrigerant gases for air conditioners.

—Increased capacity, speed, and service quality

The expansion and reorganization of logistics processes allow the management of a catalog of over 50,000 references and guarantee even faster and more reliable service to customers. Among the main operational benefits:

  • Greater product availability due to increased storage capacities.
  • Faster shipping times: the new layout allows reducing the stocking time of received goods, ensuring almost immediate availability on the shelves.
  • Optimized inbound and outbound processes, with reduced manual handling and total integration of information systems between Magneti Marelli Parts & Services and CEVA Logistics.

—Advanced integration and an enhanced logistics team

The Sosnowiec warehouse operates with strong IT integration with the central system of Magneti Marelli Parts & Services, minimizing manual operations. Thanks to web services and advanced platforms like Warranty & Claims and e-Marelli (e-commerce), order and shipment management processes are fully digitized and synchronized with the company's logistics network.

Furthermore, the enhancement of the structure strengthens the work of the Material Planning, Warehouse, and Distribution teams, which work closely with the Logistics Headquarters to ensure an integrated approach at the EMEA level.
